Already accused of killing Rebecca Contois, Skibicki was charged in the deaths of Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran and an unidentified woman police believe died in March 2022.

On Thursday, December 1, 2022, homicide detectives went to the Milner Ridge Correctional Centre in Manitoba and served Jeremy Anthony Michael Skibicki with a warrant charging him with three more counts of first-degree murder. He was 35. He had been in custody since May, charged with killing Rebecca Contois, and now Winnipeg police said he had killed three other women between March and May 2022.
Contois, 24, lived in Winnipeg and was a member of O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi First Nation, also known as Crane River. Her partial remains had been found in May in the 200 block of Edison Avenue, in a garbage bin near an apartment building, and Skibicki was arrested and charged on May 18. Because of the circumstances, police said in their December release, investigators had never ruled out more victims.
The three new victims were women whose deaths had not been public. Morgan Beatrice Harris, 39, was believed to have been killed on or about May 1, 2022, and Marcedes Myran, 26, on or about May 4. Both lived in Winnipeg and were members of Long Plain First Nation. The third woman had not been identified. Police believed she was killed on or about March 15, 2022, and that she, too, was Indigenous.
To try to learn who she was, police released photographs of a reversible black jacket with a fur hood, like one they believed she had worn. Its lining was patterned in black and white stripes with the words "baby phat" and a cat-like logo. They asked anyone who recognized it to call the Homicide Unit.
"It's always unsettling whenever there is any kind of a serial killing," Police Chief Danny Smyth said. "It does involve Indigenous women. We're very sensitive to the whole missing and murdered Indigenous women investigation and inquiry and the recommendations that came out of that." Smyth said investigators had not found the bodies of the three women but had enough evidence to charge Skibicki with first-degree murder. Police said they had no leads to any other potential victims.
In December 2022 these were charges, not findings of guilt; police alleged that Skibicki killed all four women, and none of the charges had been tested in court. The unidentified woman had no name at the time, and the bodies of Harris and Myran had not been recovered.
