The Briley Brothers

Linwood, James and Anthony Briley killed across Richmond, Virginia between March and October 1979, with a younger accomplice named Duncan Eric Meekins. Estimates of the series run from eleven deaths to twenty-one.

They were tried and sentenced separately, and the outcomes were not the same. Linwood was condemned for one murder and executed in 1984. James received two death sentences and was executed in 1985. Anthony was convicted of four murders, was never sentenced to death, and is still in prison. Because the dispositions differ, each brother has his own case file rather than a single shared one.
