Williams was born in 1979 and lived at Rowland Heights in Los Angeles County with her husband Neal Williams, twenty-seven, and their sons Devon, seven, and Ian, three.
On August 7, 2007 she smothered both boys and then killed her husband, striking him more than ninety times with a samurai sword. She reported finding the bodies and gave an account of an intruder, which the evidence contradicted.
The prosecution's case was that she had wanted a different life and had killed the family to be free of it; there was evidence of an affair and of her stated dissatisfaction with the marriage.
She was convicted of three counts of first degree murder and sentenced to death on January 18, 2012.
She remains on California's death row. California has executed no one since 2006 and has had a moratorium since 2019, so the sentence is not expected to be carried out. This is a single act, not a serial case.
