Calva Zepeda was born in 1979 and lived in Mexico City. He was an aspiring writer.
On October 8, 2007 police searching his flat in connection with the disappearance of his girlfriend, Alejandra Galeana, thirty, found her dismembered remains: parts in the wardrobe, parts in the refrigerator, and cooked flesh in a frying pan on the stove. A manuscript he had been writing, titled Cannibalistic Instincts, was also found. A third woman, known only as La Jarocha, is also named in the record.
The remains of a second woman, Veronica Consuelo Martinez Casarrubias, were later recovered, and a third disappearance was attributed to him. The Mexican press named him el canibal de la Guerrero.
On December 11, 2007 he was found hanging from his belt in his cell in Mexico City, two months after his arrest. There was no trial, no verdict and no judgment.
One killing is documented by the remains found in his flat and a second by later recovery; the further attribution is investigative rather than proved.
