Joaquín Villalón Díaz, also written Villalón Díez in Spanish reporting, was sentenced in Spain on February 3, 1995 to 58 years and 10 months in prison. The sentence covered one count of murder and one of robbery with homicide, with lesser counts of continued robbery with force, continued forgery, theft and continued fraud. The deaths for which he was sentenced were those of two women in Madrid in September 1992. He was on a prison permit at the time, according to Cuatro.
Cuatro, in a report built on a court order obtained by Europa Press, also wrote that in 1981 he had killed his partner. No verdict, court or sentence for that case is on record, and no conviction for it is known.
In September 1992, according to Cuatro, two women were killed in the Spanish capital by Villalón while he was out of prison on a permit. The women's names, the exact dates and the district are not on record.
The later court order rests on the sentence of February 3, 1995. Cuatro gave its parts:
28 years and 10 months for murder ("un delito de asesinato");
26 years and 8 months for robbery with homicide ("robo con homicidio");
2 years for continued robbery with force;
2 years for continued forgery;
4 months of arrest for theft;
2 months of arrest for continued fraud.
The court that passed the sentence, and the place of the trial, are not on record.
In December 2013 a court order, seen by Europa Press, declared that the criminal liability arising from the sentence of February 3, 1995 had been extinguished. Under the so-called Parot doctrine, the sentence had been set to end on February 3, 2033. Cuatro reported on December 10, 2013 that Villalón was in the Segovia prison and would leave within hours. His present place of residence is not on record.
The 1981 killing of his partner is stated by Cuatro and has no verdict on record. Names for him vary between Villalón Díaz and Villalón Díez across outlets. The number of separate events in September 1992 is not on record: the sentence lists one murder and one robbery with homicide, which fits two deaths, and the report says two women were killed.
1981: killing of his partner, as stated in the Cuatro report (verdict not on record).
September 1992: two women killed in Madrid, while he was on a prison permit.
February 3, 1995: sentenced to 58 years and 10 months in all.
December 10, 2013: freed from Segovia prison after the criminal liability from the sentence is declared extinguished; the sentence had been set to end on February 3, 2033.
