Glen Edward Rogers was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on July 15, 1962, into a violent alcoholic household, and had a long record of arson, assault and theft from his teens. He was good-looking, red-haired and easy in company, which is the method of the case: he met women in bars, moved in with them within days, and killed them.
Over about six weeks in the autumn of 1995 he killed Tina Marie Cribbs in Tampa, Florida, Sandra Gallagher in Van Nuys, California, Linda Price in Jackson, Mississippi, and Andy Lou Jiles Sutton in Bossier City, Louisiana, and he had killed a seventy-year-old man, Mark Peters, in Ohio in January 1994 and left his body in a cabin in Kentucky. He took their cars. The American press called him the Cross-Country Killer and the Casanova Killer.
He was arrested on November 13, 1995 after a police chase in Kentucky, driving Tina Cribbs's car, at the end of a national manhunt.
He was convicted and sentenced to death in Florida in 1997 and in California in 1999. He claimed at various points to have killed as many as seventy people, a figure no investigator has ever supported, and a documentary in 2012 promoted a claim that he was responsible for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, which the Los Angeles police rejected outright and which his own family has since walked back.
He was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison on May 15, 2025, aged sixty-two.
