Britt was born in 1957 and lived in Gary, Indiana. He had a conviction for rape and an intellectual disability that was accepted on all sides at his hearing.
Through 1995 women and girls in Lake and Porter counties were raped and strangled, several of them left in derelict ground in a city with a great deal of it. He was arrested on November 7, 1995.
He confessed to eleven killings.
