Randitsheni was born in 1964 or 1965 and lived in the Vhembe district of Limpopo, in the far north of South Africa. Between 2004 and 2008 he abducted children in the rural areas around Nzhelele and Tshilwavhusiku, raped them, and killed them; a number of bodies were found in the bush and in disused buildings.

He was arrested in 2008. In August 2009 he was convicted of ten murders and seventeen rapes and given sixteen life sentences and a further 220 years. He was found hanging in his cell at Modimolle on August 30, 2009, days after sentencing, in what was recorded as suicide.

Because he died immediately after the trial there is no appellate record, and the reporting of the case is almost entirely South African press coverage of the sentencing hearing. Several further disappearances in the district were attributed to him after his death and were not tested in any court. The victims were children and are not named here.
