Daglis was born in 1974 and worked at sea, returning to Athens between voyages. He lived with his mother.
Between 1992 and 1995 he attacked women working as prostitutes along the Athens ring roads and in the port area, strangling them with rope. Three were killed, including Eleni Panagiotopoulou, twenty-nine, and Athina Lazarou, twenty-six, and one body was dismembered. Many more women survived attacks and gave evidence, which is why the number of counts was so much larger than the number of deaths.
He was arrested in 1995 and confessed. The Greek press called him the Athens Ripper.
He was tried in 1997 and sentenced to thirteen terms of life imprisonment plus twenty-five years, covering the murders, rapes and attempted murders.
He hanged himself in Korydallos prison shortly after sentence, in 1997.
He is the second Greek case in this archive to end that way within months, alongside Dimitris Vakrinos, and both were held at Korydallos.
